The new sectors for 2027

The energy industry is transforming, with integration, collaboration and hybrid solutions reshaping the global ecosystem. Middle East Energy 2027 embraces this evolution with a clear structure that follows the real flow of power: from generation, through the grid, into storage, and out to end use. Every product, service and solution from our previous five sectors remains fully represented: nothing is lost, only organised more clearly.

Our five traditional sectors are evolving into four focused sectors: Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Storage and Efficiency.

Sunsetting behind pylons

Generation

Where energy begins. This sector covers the technologies that produce power at every scale; from conventional and critical/back-up power to the generation equipment driving the region's giga-scale build-out. It's the starting point of the value chain, and where reliability and capacity are decided before power ever reaches the grid.

Transmission & Distribution

Getting power to where it's needed. This sector covers the infrastructure that moves electricity from source to substation to site; grid equipment, switchgear, cables, and the digital tools that keep networks stable as demand grows and the generation mix diversifies. As the region's grids modernise at pace, this is where resilience is built in.

Storage

Making power available on demand. This sector brings together battery technologies and energy storage systems that balance supply and demand, stabilise networks, and let more renewable generation reach the grid without compromising reliability. As the region's grid-scale storage investment accelerates, this is where flexibility gets engineered in.

Energy management

Efficiency

Making every unit of power count. This sector brings together energy management, building automation, smart metering, lighting, HVAC and industrial efficiency solutions that reduce consumption and lower operating costs at the point of use; turning power generated and delivered into power well spent.

Why this evolution matters

  • Industry Alignment: Our new sectors mirror the integrated nature of modern energy systems, positioning your business at the forefront of the industry’s evolution.
  • Simplified Navigation: A clearer structure helps attendees find what they need faster, driving more relevant traffic to your stand.
  • Enhanced Collaboration: By bringing complementary technologies together, we make it easier to connect across the energy ecosystem - and turn conversations into partnerships.
  • Comprehensive Coverage:  Everything from the previous five sectors remains. It’s simply been organised in a way that works better for you; nothing removed, only enhanced.

What this means for you?

  • Better visibility - clearer layouts and cleaner visitor flow to keep traffic moving across sectors
  • Higher-quality conversations - easier for buyers to find the right suppliers, faster
  • Stronger product discovery - more intuitive sectorisation so your solutions sit where visitors expect them
  • A better environment for meetings - space and infrastructure designed for large B2B events
